HISTORY
 In the 1940's, Muhammad Universities of Islam (MUI or UOI) sprung up coast to coa st. In 1975, under the leadership of Imam W.D. Mohammed,  M U I  schools name was changed to Clara Muhammad School, an elementary and secondary and accredited educational institution. CMS, named after its founder and strongest supporter, Mrs. Clara Muhammad, wife of Elijah Muhammad and mother of eight.
 

CMS arrived with the same dedication as its predecessor, (the best education for our children). CMS objectives are to provide excellence in academics with special attention also given to morality, spirituality, humanity, family and community responsibility.

There are many graduates of both the University of Islam and Clara Muhammad Schools, and W.D. Mohammed H.S. and would like to ensure this tradition of  quality education.

To insure these traditions, Alumni nationally support the Schools, Students,  their Faculty and Parents, in the form of  volunteerism, mentoring, fundraising. and  provide grants for current students and surrounding community schools students.

The National Alumni Association is a non-profit organization. The grass root effort was spear headed by Dorcas Morrow-Green of Los Angeles, California (a graduate of MUI and CMS) in the early 1980s. In 1990 the National Alumni Association of MUI and CMS was incorporated by P. Al-Uqdah, (a graduate of MUI and CMS), and Tomi Moore, (alumnus of CMS).

The National Alumni Association includes  University of Islam, Sister Clara Mohammed Nursery/Elementary and Secondary School and all Mohammed System of Schools and those after.

The National Alumni Association uses the acronyms SCMS or CMS, MUI or MUOI , WDMHS, and NAA. The Clara Muhammad School System uses the acronyms CMS & SCMS. The Muhammad University of Islam acronyms are MUI and MUOI. The W.D.Mohammed High School, uses the acronym WDMHS.
